Summer of Success for

Film-Maker Eric Welch

Summer of Success for Film-Maker Eric Welch  (NASHVILLE, Tenn. - October 1, 2009) Award winning director and photographer Eric Welch concludes a demanding summer of photo and video production as Broken Poet Productions heads into the fall.  The past few months have brought 12 music videos, 4 live shoots for CMT, and 6 photo shoots for Eric. Projects that run the gamut from country to rock…from new acts to iconic artists.

Directing the Randy Houser video, “Boots On”, Welch turned a humorous viral video into a music video sensation.  Eric's unconventional approach captured viewers across the nation and even garnered a CMA nomination for video of the year.

Welch also directed a live music special for Tim McGraw on CMT's “Invitation Only” series.  Slated to hit the airwaves this October and November, the show highlights McGraw performing some of his new album and past hits in a story-teller environment.

This summer also found Welch creating videos for Phil Vassar, staring James Denton (Desperate Housewives - pictured above), Bomshel, Heidi Newfield, Steve Azar, EleventySeven and Brandon Heath.  He also created a video for Melinda Watts, winner of Gospel Dream Competition, and completed photo shoots for artist such as Joe Nichols, Bomshel, Jars of Clay and Tyler Dean.  In addition, he also directed several Studio 330 Sessions for CMT including artists such as John Rich, Holly Williams, and Blake Shelton.  Having the privilege of shooting the photography for Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers was a huge honor for Welch.  Then, directing their video for “Johnny Cash is Dead (And His House Burned Down)” provided the opportunity to create a unique animated video for the legendary trio.

As Eric moves into the fall, he is wrapping up work on a new video for MikesChair and creating symbolic screen images for TobyMac's next tour.

Welch created Broken Poet Productions in hopes to bring his passion for cinematography to life through music videos, live concerts, commercials, web videos, and photography. Welch's skill expands through many outlets and he looks forward to creating original, cutting-edge productions in the future.
